Recent Vandalism in Drumully Area
A Farmer had his tractor vandalised on three occasions in the last year.
Some parts were stolen other parts such as wire leads, fuel pipes and tyres were cut. Repairs to date have cost the farmer €500.
The most recent damage which was discovered on 3rd March 08 is estimated to cost €1000 to repair. The tractor is kept on an out Farm in a remote area.
Another Farmer in the same area had his tractors vandalised on two occasions inside of two weeks resulting in a cost in excess of €700 for repairs.
Since early 2005 three other farmers have had extensive damage done to wire fences. The initial cost of erecting the wire which was maliciously cut was in the region of ten to twelve thousand euro. Another fence which was the property of Monaghan Co. Council was also cut. The damage to three of the fences could have caused livestock to stray onto the public road resulting in a serious car accident.
Despite an intensive Investigation the culprits have not been apprehended.
